On Friday March 21, 2014 the land managers of Mt. Tamalpais got together for a full day of discussion at the Lyford House in Tiburon and signed the historical Tamalpais Lands Collaborative Memorandum of Understanding.  This brings the National Parks Service, California State Parks, Marin Municipal Water District and Marin County Open Space District together to protect our beloved mountain.  The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy under the direction of Greg Moore is the umbrella organization that will use its prodigious fundraising and organizational powers to drive the Collaborative forward over the coming years.  Considered the largest of the Legacy projects, the restoration of West Peak will now go into the study and planning phase and we are all excited to watch this develop!
